Team build solution - Govt. Department

Our client required a solution to enable his team of 15 to operate cohesively. He needed them to understand their strengths and develop their weaknesses to work better as a team. The team had already completed ‘MBTI’ and the client wanted a solution that could build on the knowledge they had already gained in previous team days.

Our solution:

  • We used Insights Discovery® to help each individual understand themselves and others and learn how to adapt and connect
  • We designed a half-day, offsite session which included a fully interactive introduction to the tool and their personal profiles
  • The client organised a work trip after the workshop, with exercises we designed to draw out their team’s strengths and weaknesses
  • After the event 1:1 sessions were booked with each member of the team to coach them to develop their action plan

The outcomes:

  • Participants were engaged with the tool and talking in a language of colour long after the event
  • The client feedback was that colour was used in meetings and in individuals’ interactions on a day-to-day basis
  • Individuals were able to relate to each other differently once they understood each other better - positive relationships were developed
  • Each new employee who joined the team after the event completed a personal profile and attended a 1:1 coaching session. The team wheel was updated accordingly and distributed
  • Some members of the team who left contacted us to repeat the programme for their teams in their new departments
  • The client is still working with us with his new teams 10 years later
